The following steps are intended to make the process of getting ready for Commencement easy for you:

STEP 1. Your Cap and Gown

Candidates wishing to participate in the Commencement Ceremony, on Friday, May 17, 2024, must wear a Cap and Gown.  You may purchase and pick up your cap and gown at the FMCC Raider Trader College Store.  The cost is approximately $50.  The Raider Trader College Store will be open between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.  The College Store accepts cash, check and credit card payments.

STEP 2. Graduation Rehearsal

FMCC does not hold a graduation rehearsal but asks that the graduates report to the main lobby of O’Connell Hall by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17.  Graduates will be issued a name card the night of Commencement and need to keep the card with them at all times. The name card needs to be checked for accuracy. This card will be presented to the card reader as the graduate prepares to cross the stage. The card will have a label on it with your full name.  If you see an error on this card please notify a staff member quickly.

STEP 3. Attend your Graduation Ceremony on Friday, May 17th!

Bring the following items: your cap with tassel and gown.

  • Graduates should plan to arrive at 6 p.m. and will line up in O’Connell Hall.  Guests should go directly to the main gym in the Physical Education Building to be seated, no tickets required.
  • Faculty and staff  participating in Commencement should plan to arrive at 6:15 p.m. and will line up on the second floor of O’Connell Hall.
  • 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. is the Commencement Ceremony. Following the Ceremony there will be a light reception held on the campus quad.  Graduates and guests are invited.
