Nursing and healthcare careers

Become a Nurse

Starting your nursing or healthcare career at Fulton-Montgomery Community College means enjoying some of the lowest tuition rates available in state, state-of-the-art nursing lab equipment and top-notch instruction.

The Nursing Science Program offers a four‑semester curriculum providing a balance of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Nursing. Graduates of this program are prepared to take the NCLEX examination for licensing as a Registered Professional Nurse (R.N.)

In 2015, FM’s nursing graduates earned a higher first-time pass rate on the nursing licensing exam than all other area nursing programs (with a 96% pass rate, NYS Education Department, Professional Education Program Review).

Our students work with local healthcare facilities while they study, getting on-the-job training and getting to know the people at the hospitals and doctors’ offices they plan to join.

FM also has robust transfer agreements and dual-admission programs with four-year colleges if you choose to continue your education. Meanwhile, you could save up to $90,000 in two years with our low tuition and generous financial aid packages.

FM’s degree and certificate programs can get you started quickly in the caring professions.
