Senior Citizen Audit

Senior citizens have much to offer and still much to learn and are welcome on the FM campus. If you are a senior citizen aged 60 years of age or older and are a New York State resident, you may audit credit courses on a space available basis. Senior citizens who audit classes have the opportunity to attend classes free of charge for pleasure, for knowledge and intellectual stimulation without the burden of paying for classes, doing assignments or taking tests. Senior auditors do not earn college credit for the classes in which they participate.

To find out how to audit a class and determine which courses have space available for auditing, contact the Registrar’s Office at 736-FMCC x8141. You will be asked to complete a Senior Citizen Audit Form and show proof of age and New York State residency through a driver’s license or other appropriate documentation. You will need to obtain a signature from the instructor of the course you are interesting in auditing. This is normally done on the first day that the class meets so that we can be sure there is space in the class for you.

Seniors who are interested in earning college credit should enroll and pay for courses rather than auditing them.
