College-Related Information

Travel Guidance

  • All members of the college community should follow the travel warnings of the CDC and the U.S. Department of State. Members of the college community are advised to refrain from traveling to countries with active CDC travel guidance Level 2 or Level 3 warnings in effect for Novel Coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19, especially China, Italy, Iran, Japan or South Korea, where New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the suspension of study abroad programs in early March.
  • The CDC has compiled a list of international locations with widespread or sustained community transmission of Novel Coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19, and it is updated as new information emerges. Please refer to this list on the CDC’s Coronavirus Disease 2019 Information for Travel webpage when making any international travel decisions.
  • Be informed that if you are planning a trip to one of the CDC-identified geographic regions; are currently visiting one of these locations; have returned from one of these locations within 14 days; or otherwise believe you have been exposed, you may be required to self-isolate off-campus before returning to campus. Contact the Public Safety Office at (518) 736-3622 ext. 8405 for guidance before returning to campus.
  • As directed by SUNY, all members of the college community are required to contact Public Safety if they are now in or planning to travel to or return from a Level 2 or 3 area including China, Italy, Iran, Japan or South Korea, or if they otherwise believe they have been exposed.
  • As this is a fluid situation, travel guidance may be issued for additional areas or raised to higher levels, leading to unexpected consequences such as delays in returning or quarantines. Individuals should carefully consider their own circumstances prior to travel. For up-to-date travel guidance, please refer to the CDC’s Coronavirus Disease 2019 Information for Travel webpage.

Cleaning Protocols

In response to Governor Cuomo’s announcement of new cleaning protocols to assist in preventing the potential spread of the Novel Coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19, the college will be following the NYS Department of Health’s School Cleaning and Disinfection Guidance.
