FM Board of Trustees

Fulton-Montgomery Community College is governed by a Board that consists of ten members who are appointed in compliance with Section 6306 of the New York State Education Law. Two members are appointed by the Fulton County Board of Supervisors and two are appointed by the Montgomery County Legislature, with one member alternating appointment by either Fulton or Montgomery Counties. Four members are appointed by the Governor, consisting of two appointees from Fulton County and two appointees from Montgomery County. Each of the local or Governor’s appointees serves a seven-year term. The tenth member of the board is elected by and from among the students of the College and who serves a one-year term.

The duties and responsibilities of the Board are set forth in New York State Education Law, Section 6306, subdivisions 2 through 8-a (Appendix 1) and 8NYCRR, Section 604.2 (Appendix II).

The FM Board of Trustees meetings are typically held on the third Thursday of the month unless otherwise posted. Meeting dates and times are published in advance and are available online. Agendas and past meeting minutes are posted after they are approved by the Board.
