Greg Truckenmiller, Ph.D., Acting President at FM.

On August 1st, I became the Acting President at FM. I wanted to share some thoughts and some of the positive things that are happening on our campus.

FM is a comprehensive community college offering a variety of academic programs ranging from Business to General Studies, to Fine Art, to Technology. The diverse curricula prepare students for transfer or the workforce. If you don’t see what you are looking for in our catalog, look into Individual Studies. This innovative program is designed to be flexible and combine classroom education with internships to customize a plan to meet your needs.

At FM, we pride ourselves on being a small community college; but don’t confuse size with no opportunity! At FM, our students excel and often find themselves to be leaders on our campus and in the community after they leave us. Our friendly atmosphere offers students the opportunity to get to know our faculty and staff.

In addition to our excellent degree programs, FM offers academic and student support services that are designed to help our students succeed. Success at any college is up to you; but FM provides services including advising, counseling, academic intervention, tutoring, student clubs, athletics, on-campus housing, and much more. All of our services and offerings are designed to make a

student’s college experience one to remember.  FM boasts the highest graduation rate of any community college in the Capital District, a distinction in which we take great pride.

On-campus we have worked hard at updating our facilities as well. We are in our second year of upgrading our science and technology labs, and the Rao Theater will be ready for fall after a total renovation project this summer.

I hope that you’ll find FM to be the college experience that best meets your needs. If you have any questions, call us or visit our campus. Classes for the fall semester begin on Wednesday, September 4th. There is still plenty of time to enroll and to attend FM to reach your higher educational goals.  We look forward to seeing you on campus.
