FM Financial Aid Visits Area High Schools During the Month of October 2018

Posted: September 17, 2018 — Need help filing those forms needed to get money to help cover the cost of college?  Well there will be many chances over the next few months to get the help you need.  The time, October 1st, is coming up again to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), TAP application and the Excelsior Scholarship Application.  FM will be hosting many different events to help you sort through all of the information, get what you need to file all of the applications and work with you hand in hand to file all the necessary paperwork.

We will once again be going into all of the local high schools to help students and parents file the FAFSA, TAP and Excelsior scholarship applications.  The dates are as follows:

  • Mayfield High School October 1st at 6:30pm
  • Johnstown High School October 2nd at 5:30pm
  • Broadalbin-Perth High School October 4th at 6:30pm
  • Fonda-Fultonville High School October 9th at 6:30pm
  • Fort Plain High School October 10th at 6:30pm
  • Galway High School October 17th at 6:30pm
  • Northville High School October 18th at 6:30pm
  • Wells High School October 23rd at 6:00pm
  • Canajoharie High School October 24th at 6:30pm
  • OESJ High School October 25th at 6:30pm
  • Amsterdam High School October 30th at 6:00pm
  • Gloversville High School November 1st 6:00pm

At these events there will be a short presentation to cover sources, types and specific awards for federal, state and institutional financial aid.  We will then move to the computer labs to help students and parents file the forms necessary for your student to receive aid for the 2019-2020 academic year.  Items necessary to complete the applications are: 2017 federal and state tax returns and W-2’s, social security numbers, dates of birth and a valid e-mail address.

November 17th is FM’s Fall Open House and there will be an opportunity to ask any questions you have regarding financial aid and the admissions process.
