How can I get assistance to help pay for the training? Although No financial aid is available for this training, the following programs, pending eligibility, may be able to offer financial assistance to help offset the cost of the program:

Health Professions Opportunity Grant:  The HPOG 2.0 Health Professions Opportunity Grant at FM supports low-income students pursuing a career in healthcare. Eligible participants receive academic guidance as well as support with job placement and retention. HPOG 2.0 may also provide financial supports to help students successfully complete their training, including fee coverage, childcare, transportation, textbooks, and clinical and course materials (e.g. stethoscopes and scrubs). To be eligible, students must be enrolled in a qualifying degree or certificate program at FM and meet certain income requirements. HPOG 2.0 requires all participants to go through an intake process as well as a required “random assignment”- similar to a lottery. Some will be selected and others will not. Students can apply for HPOG 2.0 by contacting our program staff via phone/text at 518-332-6305, or email at HPOG 2.0.

Scholarship Opportunity:  The Fulton-Montgomery Community College Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of a scholarship in memory of Margaret A. Collier. Mrs. Collier’s daughter, Gail and her husband, Jerry Ryan have established a scholarship of $500.00 to be awarded to a student enrolled in FM’s Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide Programs. Mrs. Collier had a passion for these programs, since she herself was a certified Home Health Aide in New York and New Jersey. She was devoted to her home care work.  Click here to print the scholarship form.
