Congratulations on your acceptance to Fulton-Montgomery Community College! Follow these easy step-by-step instructions to complete the enrollment process.
Step 1. Schedule your Writing Assessment
Call the Student Development Center 518-736-FMCC (3622) extension 8140 to schedule your writing assessment. (What is this?)
Students residing outside Fulton and Montgomery Counties are required to submit a Certificate of Residence. Click here for more information.
Step 2. Reserve Housing – Commuter students skip to Step 3
All first-year full-time students who relocate to the region for the purposes of attending college at FM are required to live on campus during their first year of attendance, on a space available basis. Students must complete the writing assessment and pay their $50 Security Deposit and $100 Housing Fee before they can reserve housing. Please note, the $150 Housing Fee is non-refundable in the event the student cancels their enrollment. Click here for full details and the Housing Request Form. Complete all housing documents and hand them into the Bursars office the day of your writing assessment. Housing forms cannot be mailed in advance of your writing assessment.
Step 3. Register for Classes
Upon completion of your writing assessment, an appointment to meet with an Academic Advisor to select your classes will be scheduled. Out-of-town students may have their advising appointment completed the same day as their writing assessment.
If you are a returning student or your writing assessment has been waived contact the Student Development Center at 518-736-FMCC (3622) extension 8140 to schedule an appointment to meet with Academic Advisor. Check out the class schedule by clicking here.
Step 4. Register for Orientation
Student Activities will mail information regarding Orientation.
