Graduation Requirements

To be eligible to receive an Associate Degree or certificate from Fulton-Montgomery Community College, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Complete the minimum semester hours of course work required for the specific degree or certificate.
  2. Successfully complete the appropriate course of study prescribed in the college catalog.
  3. Complete at least 50% of the minimum semester hours at FMCC as outlined above.
  4. Attain a 2.00 cumulative index or higher, either for all the courses taken at FMCC or those courses taken at FMCC that apply to the degree.
  5. Submit to the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs an application for graduation indicating the semester in which you intend to complete all degree requirements. Your application for graduation should be submitted prior to the last semester in which the work is to be completed or by December for the following May.

If you do not file a graduation application, your academic record will not be reviewed for graduation. If you file an application but do not meet all degree requirements, you will be notified of the deficiency and will then have to reapply for a subsequent graduation.

Degrees and certificates are conferred once per year in May for all degree candidates who have completed graduation requirements in the previous summer, fall, or spring semesters. You must complete all requirements to be eligible to graduate and/or participate in the commencement ceremony.
