Sherry Warner is an Assistant Professor for Nursing at FM, teaching nursing and health careers courses. Sherry’s nursing practice has included areas of pediatric, maternity, medical-surgical, hospice, and homecare. She has served as a staff nurse, supervising community health nurse, and a quality assurance coordinator and has taught at HFM BOCES as a LPN Clinical Instructor.
A graduate of FM, she went on to earn a B.S. from SUNY College of Technology and a M.S.N in Nursing from St. Josephs of Maine. Currently, Sherry holds membership in the Mohawk Valley District #10 Nurses Association; the American Nurses Association; the National League for Nurses; Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and has served on Nurses House Board of Directors.
At FM, Sherry serves on the Assessment and Curriculum Committee. She also serves as a member of the FACE Scholarship Committee. In 2009, she was presented with the Ellen Burns Excellence in Nursing Award.
Sherry has served in an elected position on the board of directors of the New York State Nurses Association. She was also an elected delegate from New York State to the American Nurses Association where she deliberated issues affecting RNs throughout the nation. Sherry has also been very active in raising money for the FM Foundation’s Nurses for Nurses Scholarship.
Sherry enjoys quilting, crocheting, and counted cross stitch. She has been married for over thirty years and has a daughter, Vanessa, who is a Middle school Science teacher.
