Professor Bob Renda has been teaching at FM for the past 11 years. His courses include Digital Design, Web Design, Multimedia Technology, and Multimedia Development.
Bob earned his higher education degrees from University at Albany including a B.A. in Russian, with a minor in Linguistics, graduating Magna Cum Laude; and a M.S. in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology with a Concentration in English as a Second Language and Computer Based Training.
Prior to teaching at FM, Bob was the Director of Institutional Technology at Syracuse University. He also worked as a multimedia engineer for NBC Studios and a Systems Integrator for General Electric.
“GE owns NBC so I was placed in a couple of roles there,” says Bob. “As a multimedia engineer for NBC, I developed multimedia authoring tools, provided quality assurance engineering and user training for NBC Desktop Video Software. As Systems Integrator, I designed and developed a fully functional production center for GE to allow utility companies to utilize Automated Meter Reading technology at customer sites.”
From 1988-1991, Bob was a Russian/German linguist for the United States Military Intelligence Branch. He served as Signal Intelligence/Voice Intercept Operator, debriefing and escort of defectors and émigrés in Germany.
