Prior to joining FM’s full-time teaching faculty, Laurie was an adjunct Chemistry Instructor at the College and also taught 7th grade Life Science at Gloversville Middle School. Laurie earned a B.S. in Chemistry with a Biology minor from SUNY Oneonta, a M.S. in Chemistry from The Ohio State University, and a M.S. in Education from SUNY Albany.
Laurie, a resident of Gloversville, enjoys reading, watching movies, baking, taking pictures, and is currently learning how to take care of the plants in her new yard. She is also a big sports fan and says she will be keeping a close eye on ‘her’ Ohio State Buckeyes and looks forward to attending FM sporting events.
“I am very excited to be a part of the FM family,” states Laurie. “Chemistry is not always easy, but I hope I can make it fun. Chemistry is a part of everything that we do. I hope my students leave my class with an understanding and appreciation of Chemistry, even if it does not play a direct role in their chosen career.”
