Ken Vennette, Assistant Professor of English, began his career at FM in 2005. Prior to FM, Ken served as Senior EOP Counselor at SUNY Cobleskill where he also taught English, first as an adjunct instructor and then for the EOP Program. He also was an adjunct instructor at The College of Saint Rose. Before entering the field of education, Ken was a general contractor for his own woodworking business. He was former Deputy Mayor of the Village of Canajoharie and former President of the Ayers Animal Shelter in Sprakers.
During his tenure at FM, Ken has served on the College’s Senate, as Division Chair of the Humanities Department, Chair of the Academic Assessment Committee, and member of both the Academic Integrity Committee and the Academic Policy Committee. Currently, Ken is delegate to the Faculty Council of Community Colleges (FCCC), the statewide faculty governance group for all of SUNY’s community colleges.
As a hobby, Ken continues to enjoy woodworking and is an avid outdoorsman.
Ken earned an A.A. in Liberal Studies from SUNY Cobleskill and both a B.A. in Literature and a M.A. in Creative Non-Fiction from The College of Saint Rose.
