Kathie has been a Nursing Instructor at FM since 2002. She began as a part-time clinical adjunct instructor and is now a full-time instructor at FM; serving as the Student Nurses Association co-advisor and member of the Curriculum Committee.
For the past 23 years, Kathie has been a nurse at Nathan Littauer Hospital with experience in nursing management as a supervisor, educator in nursing and diabetes, staff development, patient education, infection control, critical care, and medical surgical. A Site Coordinator and Educator for Nathan Littauer Hospital’s American Diabetes Association Recognition Program, Kathie is also the creator and lead educator for The PEARL: Promoting Education and Relationships at Littauer, which is a formalized nurse preceptor development education program.
Since 2007, Kathie has served as a Certified Diabetic Educator and as a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She is a Basic Life Support Instructor for the American Heart Association and belongs to the American Diabetes Association, Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing, and is a board member of the Mohawk Valley Nurses Association District #10.
In her free time, Kathie enjoys canning, gardening, and reading.
