For the past seven years, Karen has been teaching Anatomy and Physiology at FM. Prior to her start here, Karen taught for 25 years at other educational institutions including University at Albany, Sage Colleges, and Hudson Valley Community College.
She is the curriculum secretary at FM and wrote curriculum for Nanoscale Manufacturing Curriculum for Advanced Technological Education’s (NaMCATE) website through the nanotechnology grant. She is also an executive board member and fall newsletter editor for Empire State Association Two-Year College Biologists (ESATYCB); a volunteer and assistant naturalist for Five Rivers Limited; and a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
Karen earned both her Bachelors and Masters degrees at University at Albany and went on to earn an MBA and Ph.D. from RPI.
In her spare time, Karen enjoys leading nature walks.
