On Tuesday, March 6, State University of New York and City University of New York students were honored with the 2018 PTK All-New York Academic Awards at the New York State Museum in Albany.  Fulton-Montgomery Community College student and PTK President Jesper Bergstrom was among those honored.

The All-New York Academic Award recognizes high achieving two-year college students who demonstrate academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society.

In addition, over the March 3 weekend, the 2018 Spring PTK Conference was held in Port Jefferson, New York. FM was represented by PTK members Jesper Bergstrom, Michelle Ferraino, Linh Le, Kaeleigh Lozier, and Muhammad Kashir Usman.

According to PTK Advisor Flor Trespalacios, the group presented their College Project, “Preparing High School Students for the Transition into College,” along with other activities they participated in over the academic year, including volunteering at the Ayres Animal Shelter and fundraising with great success for the International PTK Conference in April. “The Alpha Alpha Upsilon Chapter received the Most Outstanding Two-Star Chapter in the New York Region, among others in the same category. They were also commended for increasing membership, which almost doubled from last year,” said Trespalacios.
