BUCK MOON ARTS FESTIVAL: Seeking Artists

May 23, 2014 — Fulton-Montgomery Community College is seeking artists for its upcoming Regional Juried Exhibition to be held as part of the Buck Moon Arts Festival July 12-13.  This exhibition is part of a region wide celebration of the arts in and surrounding the Mohawk Valley and Southern Adirondack region of New York. The exhibition is intended to demonstrate the diversity, originality and quality of this region’s visual artists.

The exhibition is open to all area artists 18 years and older living within a 150 mile radius of Johnstown, New York. Entries may include any original two and three dimensional mediums including digital art (no crafts or non- original images). Two-dimensional work must not exceed 48” x 72”, including frame. Maximum weight: 75 lbs. 2-D works must be framed and wired for installation. No saw toothed hangers, please.  Three-dimensional works must not exceed 150 lbs. The juror reserves the right to disqualify any work not suitably presented, or that varies from the submitted image.

The Juror is Rachel Seligman, Assistant Director of Cultural Affairs and Associate Curator of the Tang Teaching Museum and Gallery at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs.  She was also the Director and Curator of the Mandeville Gallery at Union College. Ms. Seligman holds a B.A. in Art History from Skidmore College and coursework in Museum Studies from Washington College.  A $300 Best in Show award will be selected by the juror, as well as three $100 Juror’s Choice awards.  Awards will be announced at the July 12 opening at 6:00 p.m.

To enter, a non-refundable entry fee of $15 for one entry and $25 for two works is required. Diptychs and triptychs will be considered as one entry.
