FM’s Entrepreneurship students raised $125 from their “One Day Without Shoes” fundraising efforts while the Business Club generously donated an additional $375 for a total of $500 to be split between the Amsterdam Family YMCA and the Fulton County YMCA. Amsterdam Family YMCA Executive Director/CEO Nancy Carr and School Aged Child Care Director Megan Dugas were excited to hear the news and asked to personally visit Instructor Mark Swain’s class for the check presentation and thank the students in person.

“The Amsterdam Family YMCA is one of the oldest but one of the smallest YMCA’s, with a very limited budget,” said YMCA Executive Director/CEO Nancy Carr. “This donation will make a great impact on our new Summer Reading program, the Y’s effort to help combat summer learning loss, as we were unsure how we would be able to fund it. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for thinking of the YMCA.”

One Day Without Shoes raises awareness for children’s healthcare issues across the world. For further information on “One Day Without Shoes,” visit www.toms.com/onedaywithoutshoes.
