May 2013 Electrical Technology program graduates Dan Hornbeck, Darnell Jeffers, Paul Perez, and Jeff Reed recently came to FM’s campus to prepare for a middle school STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Day workshop they are organizing for schools in the Utica area this coming February.

In preparation for the workshop, the graduates, all now attending SUNY IT, needed to investigate and capture images of structures using the scanning electron microscope (SEM). “They were unable to do this at SUNY IT, but fortunately FM’s Cleanroom and Elec Tech labs have equipment and resources beyond what they have available in Utica,” said FM Electrical Technology Professor Rich Prestopnik. “They were able to accomplish their research at FM.”
