The sophomore students and faculty of FM’s Radiologic Technology Program attended and taught at the New York State Society for the Radiologic Sciences (NYSSRS) meeting held in Corning, NY October 24-26, 2013. The NYSSRS is an affiliate of the ASRT, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.

Karlyn LaBate, Assistant Professor of Radiologic Technology, was invited as a guest lecturer while the sophomore students attended with Program Director Cindy Close. The event was attended by approximately 140 individuals, representing heath care affiliates and schools throughout New York State.

Students were also invited to participate in the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry review sessions. Students chose an innovative teaching style, providing “stations of learning” for their portion of the review. The students conducted the review sessions for the Physics Equipment and Instrumentation section of the review. The review was attended by 86 students from radiology programs statewide.
