Raiders Recognized for Academic Excellence 2012-13

September 11, 2013 — Each year the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recognizes individual student athletes as well as entire teams who have excelled in the classroom. For an individual to be named an Academic All-American, they need to have completed at least 45 college credits at a GPA of 3.60 or above.   To be recognized Academic All-Region, the athlete needs to have completed 45 college credits at a GPA of 3.50 or above.

During the 2012-13 academic year, three individual Raider student athletes have been honored.  Recognized to Academic All-Region were Jeahoon Chun, James DeJong, and Kewwon Park.  James DeJong also received Academic All-American honors.  All three of these athletes participated in Men’s Soccer.

We’d like to congratulate all of the individuals mentioned for their dedication to their academics while representing the college athletically. FM faculty and staff consistently emphasize academics first. These individuals have definitely put the student first in “student athlete.”
