It’s hard to believe how fast time flies. FM’s fall semester is just around the corner and Fulmont College Association (FCA) is gearing up for it! For those of you who don’t know, FCA is the service provider corporation on the campus of Fulton-Montgomery Community College. FCA consists of the bookstore, student housing, and oversees our food service provider, Chartwells. The FCA provides the services that make FM a “one-stop shop.” FCA is here to provide our students with the support services they need to keep their semester running smooth.
Let’s face it; students have enough to worry about. Getting to class on time and studying for that important exam is stressful. The last thing our students need to worry about is where to get their textbook or how they will find the time to make lunch. Our returning students already know about the services we provide, but for our incoming freshman, here are some helpful tips to make your transition into college a smooth one.
The Bookstore is where you will find all of your required and optional course materials and supplies; as well as FM apparel, art supplies, quick snacks, gift items, and much more. The Bookstore is located on the lower level of the College Union Building. As a student planning on deferring textbooks against financial aid, deferral dates for the fall semester begin Monday, August 5and run through Wednesday, September 18. Please make sure to have filed all of your required paperwork with the financial aid and bursar’s office so that a deferral will be waiting for you at the Bookstore. Remember to bring your Student ID and course schedule with you when you come visit us. While you are here getting your required textbooks and supplies, check out our great selection of FM apparel and gifts or order yourself a new laptop. The general public is always encouraged to stop by and check out our great selection of FM merchandise and quality art supplies.
Chartwells Food Service offers a variety of great food at different locations around campus. Whether you visit the main dining hall, Union Stations, located in the College Union; Raiders Cove located in the physical education building; or Books & Bytes Café located just outside of the Evans Library, you will be able to find a large selection of food and treats to keep you full and focused throughout the day. Chartwells offers not only cash and carry, but also a variety of residential and commuter plans to fit each student’s needs. Throughout the semester, be sure to participate in one of the many themed-days Chartwells will be offering. It’s a great way to try something new, unwind, and meet fellow students.
Campus View student housing is better than ever. Last fall’s newly added Raiders Hall proved to be a great addition, bringing the number of available beds to 294. The Residence Directors provide great programming, our maintenance crew keeps everything in tip top shape, and security keeps our students safe. For many, it may be the first time away from home, but no need to worry; Campus View will become your home away from home. The friendships you form here will last a lifetime.
Whether you are a residential student or a commuter, a returning or newly entering freshman, FCA is here to help you throughout your journey at FM.
