“Oh, I’m so bored!” is NOT the phrase you will be hearing from your child, grandchild, or nieces and nephews if you send them to FM’s Summer Academy this year.  Fulton-Montgomery Community College is currently accepting registration applications for this year’s Summer Academy.  Beginning July 15, students entering grades 3 – 8 will have opportunities to participate in workshops and programs such as American Sign Language, Cosmetology, Fun Fitness, Zumba!, Magic, Horses, Poetry, “Improv” Comedy,  the Hunger Games, and much more!

FM’s Summer Academy includes full-day workshops which will run from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  If you need to leave your house before 9:00 a.m. or stay at work past 4:00 p.m., no worries!  We offer an early drop-off plan beginning at 8:00 a.m. as well as a late pick-up through 5:00 p.m.   Full-day, week long programs are just $99 per child which includes a souvenir T-shirt.  To assist with such a low cost, we ask that children bring their own lunch.  Half-day options are offered at $69 per child which includes a choice of morning or afternoon sessions only.

The full days begin with Session One running from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, a break from 12:00 noon -1:00 p.m., followed by Session Two from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  The Academy program weeks will run from July 15-19, July 22-27, and July 29-August 2.

There will be 38 sessions to choose from, which vary by grade-level, and include topics such as “Gleek Out!”, “History Made Here: A Local History Tour,” “Horse Course,” “Hippie Week: 1960s Art,” “Judge Judy,” “Sports and Physical Activity,” “American Sign Language,” “Computer Construction and Introduction to Networking,” and “Bon Voyage! A Trip to France.” The wide range of programming offered is sure to grab the interest of any child!  Our experienced instructors will make sure that their time spent at FM is an amazing and fun educational experience!

“Hands On Tech” will run as a half-day program geared toward students entering grade. Students will have hands-on experience all week long as they learn how to use lab equipment, watch signals and voice patterns on an oscilloscope, play with sound waves and become familiar with robotics, as well as tour the College’s Cleanroom.

All of the program descriptions, instructor information, and registration forms can be found on FM’s website at www.fmcc.edu by clicking on the “FM’s Summer Academy” link.  You can also call the Admissions Office at (518) 736-FMCC (3622) ext. 8301 for complete details.  Most programs have a maximum capacity of 16 students per session.  Don’t wait, sign your student up today for FM’s Summer Academy!
