Fulton-Montgomery Community College’s Student Outreach Club and HFM BOCES Cosmetology Program partnered to sponsor a Locks of Love event on FM’s campus.

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. More information can be found at locksoflove.org

HFM BOCES Cosmetology program donated their time and expertise, providing free haircuts to those individuals who donated 10” or more of hair. For those not able to donate hair, other services including feather extensions, haircuts, and mini manicures were offered for a $10 donation. The event raised $550.00 for Locks of Love and collected eight usable 10” ponytails which will be made into wigs.
