Fulton-Montgomery Community College president Dr. Dustin Swanger was recently presented with The Faculty Council of Community Colleges (FCCC) Distinguished Service Award.
The FCCC, SUNY’s faculty governance group for community colleges, gives this award annually and has done so since 1987. The recipient is someone who is dedicated to community colleges and higher education in general and who has demonstrated his or her commitment with actions, attitudes and accomplishments.
“Dr. Swanger has clearly demonstrated his commitment to students, faculty, and SUNY. If you review his C.V. you will see the many accomplishments he has amassed. His good nature and positive attitude has always impressed our group and we all think FM is blessed to have him as a president,” states Dr. Iris Cook, FCCC Awards Committee Co-Chair.
“I am honored to receive such an award from the Faculty Council of Community Colleges,” said Swanger. “The Faculty Council works hard to improve education, maintain high quality standards, and provide input to policies for our New York State community college system. They do each of these things with tremendous due diligence and a focus on our students. I am very proud to have this group of faculty as my colleagues and humbled to be recognized by them.”
