December 12, 2012
Park Terrace Elementary School recently held its December FM Bound Program; this month’s theme was “Staying Healthy.” Kindergarten students were visited by Cornell Cooperative Extension Nutrition and Health Program Coordinator Connie Breda whose topic was fighting germs. A representative from Nathan Littauer Hospital was also on hand to assist with the discussion.
Fulton-Montgomery Community College Admissions and Enrollment Management Assistants Mimi Eglin and Dan Fogarty reminded the students about the importance of education while handing out FM logo winter hats to keep warm and stay healthy.
FM Bound is a program focusing on Park Terrace Kindergarten students and their parents, instilling the belief that all children can learn college and career readiness skills and attend college. FM Bound includes partnering with FM to provide monthly literacy activities. Funds are being raised in order to offer students who start at Park Terrace in 2012 and graduate from the school’s fifth grade a free college education at FM, pending the student meets scholarship criteria. This endowment is created through a partnership with FM’s Foundation. Anyone interested in making a donation or for further details should contact FM’s Foundation Office at (518) 736-FMCC (3622), ext. 8020.
