August 24, 2012 — FM’s Annual Community and Alumni 5K Run/1 Mile Walk will take place on the perimeter road of the campus on Saturday, September 22 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Registration is from 7:30-8:45 a.m.; the first 100 registered runners and walkers will receive a commemorative t-shirt; and a continental breakfast will be provided to all. Participants will also be entered into raffles for donated prizes from Bed, Bath and Beyond stores. Medals for winners in several age divisions will be awarded at the conclusion of the race.
Prior to September 15, the cost to participate is as follows: runners – $15, walkers – $10; FM alumnus runners – $10, FM alumnus walkers – $5. After September 15, the cost for all runners is $20 and for all walkers is $15. All proceeds from this event will benefit the anticipated “Raiders Cove,” a modern day gathering space for FM students to be located in the Physical Education Building’s vacant pool area. The space will include an Internet café, a stage, pool tables, and large screen TVs.
