Former Raiders Now Playing in NCAA

September 15, 2011 — Seven members of the Raiders’ 2009 and 2010 soccer teams are currently playing at the NCAA level.  “It’s great to see such a large group continuing on academically and athletically.  It’s an indicator that the program is maturing and preparing our student athletes for the next level,” says men’s soccer coach and Coordinator for Student Athlete Academic Success Chris Rogers.

The seven members and their new school include Alessandro Macchiarelli ’10, Albany College of Pharmacy; Eric Stock ’10, Brooklyn College; Joe Mecca ‘09-’10 and Dillon Wager ’09, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts; Chris McCarty ’10, Roberts Wesleyan College; Chris Modelowski ‘08-‘09 and Bruce Pavlus ‘08-’09, Sage College of Albany.

“Seeing these young men as student-athletes move on to quality institutions is a testament to the type of player Coach Rogers brings to our program,” says Director of Athletics Kevin Jones.  “I wish them all the very best and thank them for their commitment to our program.”
