Men’s Soccer Players Competing in NCAA

September 15, 2011 — Six members of the Raiders’ 2009 and 2010 soccer teams are currently playing at the NCAA level. “It’s great to see such a large group continuing on academically and athletically. It’s an indicator that the program is maturing and preparing our student athletes for the next level,” says men’s soccer coach and Coordinator for Student Athlete Academic Success Chris Rogers.

The six members and their new school include Alessandro Macchiarelli 2010-Albany College of Pharmacy; Rob Furman 2009, Joe Mecca 2009-10, and Dillon Wager 2009-Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts; Chris McCarty 2010-Roberts Wesleyan College; and Guy Roger Samene 2006 and 2009-SUNY Institute of Technology .

“Seeing these young men as student-athletes move on to quality institutions is a testament to the type of player Coach Rogers brings to our program,” says Director of Athletics Kevin Jones. “I wish them all the very best and thank them for their commitment to our program.”
