FM recently hosted a “Student Athlete 3.0 Luncheon” to celebrate student athletes achieving a 3.0 or better during the fall 2010 semester. A total of 28 students reached the goal, 21 of which were named to the Dean’s List (3.2 GPA or higher).

“This group of student athletes have placed a high priority on their academics,” says Chris Rogers, Coordinator of Specialized Student Services. “I am very proud of them. They have shown themselves to be leaders. Hopefully their achievement will inspire others student athletes in their academics.”

According to Rogers, a majority of the group’s seniors will be transferring to four-year schools including Danilo Cortez who will be attending SUNY Albany for Business Administration, Dianna Hime who will be attending SUNY Albany or Stony Brook for Premedical Studies, Alessandro Macchaiarelli who was recently accepted to Albany College of Pharmacy, and Chris McCarty who will be attending Roberts Wesleyan for Nursing.

Also of note, Laken Bradt is applying to FM’s Nursing Program, Nelson Oduro has been accepted into FM’s Radiologic Technology Program, and Wesley Clark has been nominated for the SUNY Chancellor’s Award.
